On Monday Murphy and I head out to a camping ground 30kms outside Florence for some much needed r'n'r. Basically for 4 days we did nothing but sip cocktails reclining by one of the 7 pools and read our books. A book exchange ensured that we never ran out, and happy hour ensured that we never got thirsty! We had a private cabin with ensuite (an amazing luxury after weeks of dorm rooms and tents), several restaurants to choose from for dinner, a spa with jacuzzi and sauna... All in all it was one amazingly good week, made better of course by good company. One day we went on a short hike into the Tuscan countryside and had a small picnic and read our books amid leafy vineyards and golden hillsides. Our last night (Thursday), we decided to celebrate/commiserate the week with a few bottles of (cheap- euro2/3) wine from the market. That night is also memorable, especially for the head I had the morning after when we were struggling to get packed and ready to check out and catch the shuttlebus back to the train station!
