Sydney , New South Wales

We have had the most amazing time since i last wrote. After leaving aakora we headed to christchurch and went to watch the crusaders rugby team play. They are the best team in the super 14's and have won it the last couple of years. To make it better it was the derby game, Auckland v Christchurch and rugby is taken very very seriously for example the match ball was flown in by a NZ army helecopter which hovered above the ground while 4 army boys slid down ropes to the floor! After that we had another round of golf which was good fun before preparing to go to Fiji. I was really excited about heading there although slightly apprehensive as the weather forecast on BBC had ben rubbish. When we arrived we realised that wasnt quite true. We stepped off the plane at 6pm and were greeted by 30 degrees and an amzing sunset. From that point on it just got better and better. We stayed one night on the main island on the beach. They have a national drink in Fiji called Kava which is non alcoholic and ground from certain roots. However it does have a very weird effect on you and seriously chills you out. After a few to many glasses all of us found our balance had been drastically effected as we staggered back to our rooms. The next day we caught a boat over to Mana island whcih apparently was even more beautiful than the island we were on so we booked in for the rest of our trip there and set off. As we took our boat to our island we passed the celebrity love island, the shiprecked island and where castaway was filmed. When we arrived at our island i couldnt get over how amazing it looked. The facilites were basic, electricity for 4 hours a day no internet etc but then the view and where we were made up for it. We shared a room with 17 people with no a/c and in 40 degree heat the room dip get quite warm but we were only in there for sleeping the rest of the time we spent snbathing and snorkelling. On our 2nd day on the island we went fishing in a boat. It was just us 4 and we headed out about 5pm and sat there fishing first watching the sunset come down and then the stars shine brighter than iv ever seen them before, all 4 of us laid down in the boat fishing for 4 hours stargazing and watching the shooting stars. Our final day on the island saw us go scuba diving to one of the reefs. Snorkelling was the best id ever seen on this island but it was beaten when we went down to the reef. We saw 3 different types of shark, black and white tip and grey reef sharks all about 2 m long. After this we took another boat trip back to the main island for our last night in Fiji before catching a plane at 9 am the next mornning. The best way to describe how beautiful this island really was was that there were honeymoon sweets on the same beach as us which were 1000 pounds per night! All of us feel so relaxed after going to Fiji everything is done on Fiji time which seems about an hour later than real time but that adds to the experience. I cannot believe we will see many more beautiful places in the World than Fiji. Yesterday we arrived in Sydney Australia, we got to our hostel and headed out to take a boat around Sydney harbour, the sydney harbour bridge and the opera house. We sat outside the opera house for a couple of hours slowly sipping a beer in 20 degree sunny weather watching the sunset over the harbour. Today where heading off to Manly beach and then to one of my freinds from uni's house to have a BBQ and a few beers as he is over in Sydney for the last semester. Hope everyone at home is doing ok.
