Singapore, Singapore

hi everyone

today is our last day in singapore as we fly to Cairns 2nit at 10pm. looking forward to gettin to OZ! Heres an update of what we have been gettin up to over last couple of days.

On monday we decided to have a look around little india - we caught the local bus in the WORST rain ever, we had rain coats and a umbrella and we still got soaked! The markets werent up to much in the rain as we couldnt see cause it was raining so hard - damn monsoon season! we also did our good deed for the day and helped an old lady over the road in the rain as she didnt have an umbrella - but she fell over as it was raining so hard so we both had to help her walk! We then caught the MRT (underground train) to City Hall and the super huge raffles shopping centre. We had some soup at our new fav place 'Soup spoon. Our entreprenure brains want to market this idea over in england and steal all there secret recipes! We then had a look around all the shops and as it was still raining we decided to head back to the hotel for shelter. In the evning we both had a bath as its the first place in ages thats not just had a shower! altho i think it was made for a dwarf because you had to sit in it with your knees on your chest! we then watched a movie in the room and went to sleep!

Tuesday was our exciting day in Singapore Zoo and Night Safari! one of the best days we have had! we got there at lunch time and it was a dry hot day thankfully. The Zoo was first and closed at 6pm where you then had some tea and could go in the night safari at 7pm. The zoo was massive and had so many animals in (check out all our pics - we have even more we havent put on) - polar bears, lions, monkeys with massive noses, rhinos, bats, zebras, snakes, anything you can think of they had. We also went to the three shows that they do one with the rain forrest animals where they brought me up to do a tribal dance with the warriors! and my voice still hurts from screaming like them! the other was 'splash adventure' which had seals and manatees etc and the other was the elephant show doing all sorts off stuff! we were both so tired after walking around the zoo for 6 hours but we still had the night safari to go.

we grabbed some tea from one of the restaurants they have there and then when the gate opened at 7 everyone rushed to go to the 'creatures of the night' show which was in darkness but good fun. the best bit were the otters coming out to recycle the bottles all over the stage! After the show we then got on the tram which does a 45 min loop off the night safari and shows you all the animals in the natural habitat. we got off half way and did dome of the walks you can do in the dark. the scaryist bit was being in the bat house with bats everywhere flying past your face - we couldnt get out of there quick enough! by this time it was about 10.30pm so we decided to head back to our hotel as we were both knackered! great day tho and must be the best zoo in the world! we are going to go to Steve irwins zoo in OZ so have to see how that compares to it! we both had a great day.

Today we are just passing some time on the internet and going to the raffles hotel to have look around it. then we have to come back get our backpacks and head to Changi airport for our flight at 10pm.

hope everyone back home is ok.

love tom and kelly xxx
