Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Hi everyone!

Since leaving Phuket we have been to Bangkok. We had a great time, the city has a lot of atmosphere. We really enjoyed picking up some souveniers from Khao San Road, bartering with the locals was always lots of fun. My favourite day, was when we visited the Grand Palace. It is a massive complex of ornate statues and buildings including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Every building is mosiaced with gold and mirrored tiles, the effect in the sunlight is just amazing. Sitting amongst the worshipers in the temple was very special.

We are now in Hong Kong which is a very vibrant place. On our first evening we took an evening cruise around the harbour, and saw the Symphony of Lights show. It is the worlds largest permanent light and sound show. What a sight!! We took the Star ferry over to Kowloon for some daylight views of the harbour and also saw the Kowloon clock tower. Yesterday we took a tram at a 45 degree angle to the Peak. This is where you can get some amazing views down onto all the skyscrapers. I think we must have seen it from every vantage point by now. It was very high but worth the hyperventilation and sweaty palms! Today is our last day of the whole trip! I have had an amazing experience, I'm sad that it's nearly over, but can't wait to see you all! Thank you to everyone who has written on my message board.

See you soon.
