After visiting the glaciers we were on the move again up to Hokitika. Home of the New Zealand Jade. On the road out of Franz up to Hokitika is a wild food cafe. Famed for it's "Possum Pie"....... Reportedly scooped up road kill!!!!(not really but it sounds better) So with the thought of helping a nation save it's native plants we bought 2 and happily chewed on some possum. Very nice too! After helping lower the possum numbers we arrived in Hokitika, to find probably the cheapest campsite in a long time. Hokitika is a small town with not a lot to do other than look at expensive jade. And so we move on to Greymouth......
