Haast, New Zealand

Tuesday, 12 June 2007

So moving on from Wanaka, we start our course up the west coast along the world heritage highway. Our first destination was to Haast. And the scenery along the road to Haast was probably some of the best we had seen so far in New Zealand, massive mountains dropping down into perfectly still lakes. After a night spent in sleepy Hasst we drove down to Jacksons Bay to do a short walk down to the hidden beach. Mainly hidden by rainforset which is very good at hiding things!!!! After spending some time contemplating war and peace we headed back to the van to drive up to Fox Glacier. Along the way we stopped at a Salmon farm and bought some very nice (and cheap) salmon.

After watching the salmon swim in circles for a while we were away to Fox.....
