My Journey

Perth, Western Australia

Hi all,

Well here I am again after a long hard 3 months of fruit picking. I can't believe I actually stuck it out for that long but if I am telling the truth.... I actually had a ball!

I finally finished my fruit picking (Kingston on Murray - Adelaide) at the end of April and decided to move on to Perth (Western Australia) to try and get the rest of my travels complete before the end of my year runs out. I had the best time and met the most awesome friends while I was fruit picking. I will post the pictures very soon for you all to see. The pictures are not actually of me picking fruit but more like being on the piss with friends so don't worry they are not as boring as they sound.

When I decided to leave for Perth a few of the other girls I met fruit picking also wanted to come to Perth so we ended up travelling together as we all had the same plan. The girls I travelled with were; Mel, Cheryl, Erienne (3 English girls), Leia (Canadian) and Cin (Argentinian). We hired a 6 berth camper van for 1 week and drove from Adelaide to Perth which took us 5 days - we had the time of our lives - a proper girlie road trip! I have always wanted to do a road trip in the outback and this was the best opportunity I could ever have had, it was truly breathtaking. You could travel for approx. 100k's and see nothing on the road apart from Kangaroos (most of them dead), it was like something out of a film.

The only serious problem we had was running out of diesel 20k from the next gas station (you had to re-fuel at every gas station otherwise you would not make it to the next town) so we had a bit of a laugh waiting for the next truckie to come along which lucky for us was the same day. Other than that the trip went pretty smooth!!

I am now in a backpackers hostel (Globe Backpackers (Bedbug City)) in Perth looking for a place to live as I have a job starting next Monday and I want to be settled into a flat/house before then.
