Well... What a time! To all those how convinced me to come - a big thank you! I love Thailand.
I started in Bangkok which is a bit like many other big Asian cities - i did like it though but was a bit nervy of wandering around at first. I found Koahsan road whilst looking for a 7/11 to buy some supplies. The i met up with the rest of the group who i was horrified to discover had all been doing a week long trip in the north and i was the only one to join. We had a group meal and i had the hottest green thai curry ever! After we played drinking games and i got quite hammered - uncharacteristically of me i refused to pay for some reason and told everyone to leave me alone. Oh and to make matters worst i woke up at miday the next day after our only planned tour that day! i had a lot of apologising to do.
WE went to the palace after the which was amazing - i didnt think i would be so impressed but it was beautiful.
Next stop was the night train down to Koah Pang Yan and a bus to the ferry. From the ferry i was the only person to see 2 dolphins which were amazing. When we got to KPY we had these Song Tao's for transport which basically means deathwish pickup truck. The guy bombed up this mountain trail which was bascially a washed away road we were bouncing around all over the place covered in dust and i had such a big grin on my face!
Our huttlets were right on the beach in the most stunningly beautfufull place! I didnt do anything else for the 2 days but swim andget soo sunburnt. In the night i got some mekong buckets down me and i dont remember much after that :)
Right now i am in Koah tao. On the ferry over here i saw flying fish! That was nothing compared to today though. WE had a whole day of snorkelling and i love it! Got panicky at first i didnt feel like i was getting enough air but when you concentrate on the fish you calm down. I saw thousands of tiny fish that swim right upto your face - a parrot fish i think that was rainbow coloured and chewed up the coral - barracuda.
Oh yes and a f***ing massive reef shark! I thouht these things were supposed to be tiny this was going on for jaws's son! It was about 2.5meters and maybe a foot wide at the mouth! massive! I got 2 pics which hopefully come out. Basically oner of the berst days i have had in a long while.
Tonight its 2 peoples birthdays so were are all going out - im off to get a mekong bucket...
Catch you all later
Pauly xx
