Fiji, Fiji

BULA
ive been in fiji for a few days now and that word hasnt worn thin yet. the people here are so accomadating. everywhere ive been there has been a welcomming song and a leaving song. its so nice, i even got one at the airport. that was a bit mad.
what was also mad was that on the flight from sydney, we had the fijian rugby team who were just comming back from hong kong having wont the cup. and the fijians sure love their rugby. there were hundreds of people waiting for them to arrive as soon as we got out of customs, it was so surreal, like the sort of things you see in films. i just wanted to get out of there sharpish and get my head down. 4 hours of having a small child scream in your ear and kick the back of your seat take it out of you.
anyway
my first island, or resort rather, as they were all part of the yasawa islands, was Korovou and that was nice. basic but nice. the people there were really neat, always wanted a chat and to know how you were and the food, oh my god the food, i dont think ive eaten so well in my life, well at least for a while. pasta and sauce and noodles everyday does get a bit boring =p. it was all pretty good stuff.
we made bracelets from coconuts and saw the traditional dances at night as well as the bula dance. i got quite good at that. was abit gutted i missed the fire dances though, i came to the island a day late.

the next island resort i visited was Kuata. this had a bit of a different feel and though bigger, felt a lot more isolated.there were lots of places to go and have an explore about the island, and it was nice to find a free hamock to relax in. i also got the oppertunity to make a bracelet out of leaves here as well as snorkel with sharks in the reef without a cage. it was pretty insane and they get quite close despite how many people were in the water. it wasnt long though before i had to head back to the main land, but i really enjoyed fiji, it was as beautiful and relaxing as id hoped.
