FOR MUM-LOOK MY BLOG IS STILL ALIVE!!!

I only have one more shift of work left! Well at the Hotel anyway- almost 3 months later and with (hopefully) a few pounds still left in the bank i'm ready to get up and go again! For the first (and only) time i'm now relying on the NZ dollar to be really low (sorry!) and the UK pound to be nice and strong (bad timing huh?) so that i get a nice little conversion rate of $3 for every £ i earned... hopeful story more than anything... Has been awesome working at the hotel though apart from the money- basically turned into a full time receptionist of doing 40+ hours a week there plus a few nights a week at the other retaurant.. Had some fun times including a Jimmy Hendrix band come to play at the hotel in commemoration of him staying there a billion years ago. Can't say i was too familiar with the songs but was quite entertaining from the other side of the bar watching 40 year old guiness drinking men with pot belly's try to be young again with the stylish dancing in their rebel leather/lycra (can't think which is worse) outfits.

Also had another few milestones...Jenny turned the big 17...about a month ago- but still! Even went to see a true british band, the Tilly and the Wall (i'm sure their music will arrive in NZ in five years or so) which was cool! The Whanau and i also did a really nice walk (where Autumn was in full bloom- NZ got ripped off not getting a proper Autumn) from here to Addingham and back (with a ginormous pub meal in between).. I went bell ringing (now how many people can say they've done that) and believe or not there is actually people in the tower pulling the ropey things but no, they don't swing on them up and down like in the movies (shame i know!)

Sunday marks the day of being back the travel mode when im heading north (yes that means closer to the north pole and the close i come to death by hyperthermia) to Scotland where i'm planning on finding my husband... Ok the actual plan is to go up with Granny & Grandad (on a train i might add-i wonder if they'll be as flash as the indian ones..) which will be nice as haven't had much of a chance to see them in the last few months. Then its back to Ilkley for a day and straight on to Switzerland to see the rest of the Whanau again and see it in Winter for the first time... i'm counting on snow.... if i have to put up with single didget temperatures the least Mr Weatherman can do is sprinkle a little white dust here and there... Then after my last dose of Rivella and the best bread its back here for a measly four days where somehow i'll leave here for good (well for this trip anyway) in one piece... But as sad as thats going to be i'm super excited for the rest coming including my first White Xmas (but no Pohutukawas) in london with Rach as well as a trip to Morrocco for New Years (Edinburgh got overrulled as it was about 4 times more expensive so we settled for a Marrakkesh New Years instead!).. and last but not least i have East africa to explore before heading home!

And i know now for sure that there will definitely be a home as i'm now going to be starting Uni at the end of February. I've applied and been accepted into a Bachelor of Nursing at Auckland uni and am staying in a flat in Parnell... so huge numbers of things to be looking forward to! Am off to work now for the (almost) final tme!

Hope everyone is happy where they are and that all you Kiwi's aren't taking those mid twenty temperatures for granted!

Love

Liv
