Melbourne is quite a strange place! I see why people like it because it is very english in a way. Theres loads of curry houses. It's way busier than i imagined it would be and its quite expensive. In fact i dont think its particularly english, its just got a much more cosmopolitan feel than anywhere else we have been in oz, even sydney. It seems to be trying to be a bit more trendy and different which i think is why its popular. We are in north melbourne where there are heaps and heaps of really nice small coffee shops and bars all along the streets.
The highlight of our time here has been going to the Neighbours night! We met some of the actors. Although the only one we knew was karl kennedy! What a legend! His band The Waiting Room played too which was ace.
The weather has imrpoved in that it hasnt rained but its been bitterly cold. The forecast here keeps saying highs of 18 deg everyday but it must be wrong because everyone has hats and scarfs on - surely i havent acclimatised that much? The bruised coccyx (or cracked @rse, as its been referred to) is much improved thank goodness! especially as i now have a cold and it was hurting when i sneezed!
Most evenings we have been watching TV because Gordon Ramsey is now on 3 nights a week over here - how good is that?! Although there has been a load of fuss over here about airing his shows because of the foul language - which is a bit hard to believe given the totally un-PC and generally offensive things you hear come out of the aussies mouths on a day to day basis!!!! oh yeah and dont be fooled by that thing they tell you where the aussies have a genuine fondness for us 'pommy's.........
