We seem to have been really busy in the last week or two. It was a bit sad to leave 1770 as we had made some good friends there, but there are so many other places to visit. We travelled further south to Hervey Bay and stayed for one night in a hostel where our dorm smelled of diarrhoea - we kept expecting to find a turd lurking under on the beds. Fortuntely we didnt stay here long as we got a 4WD tour to Fraser Island. It turned out to be quite stressful as we were in a group of 11 people - quite a few who had ideas about not following the itinerary and doing their own routes. Bad times - especially when the itinerary is based on the tide times of the island when its too dangerous to drive on the beach! So i think me and Rich were pretty unpopular for that trip - we were the party poopers. It also rained nearly the whole time so being rammed into the abck of a 4 x 4 with 6 others wasnt fun. Although driving it was! rich ran over a massive jelly fish.
We did see some amazing sights on the island. The usual dingos and spiders, but none of the tiger sharks, rays or dolphins as promised. A place called Lake Wabby was my favourite place.
We left hervey bay and travlled further south to where we are now - Noosa. Its another really nice place. had the filthy hostel experience again, and also woke up to find two guys playing footballl in our dorm at 2am - they said they were looking for Joel?! then left via the front door. so made a pretty swift move down the road to the YHA which thankfully is much cleaner.
we went kayaking around Noosa Sound and down Noosa river yesterday evening. We also went to Australia zoo (steve irwins place - for those who dont know) which was excellent. got to stroke lots of animals and fed an elephant. the croc show was good but it definitely wasnt the same without steve himself - the other staff didnt seems to be as brave and sort of threwthe meat to the crocs rather than actually feed them.
Today we have been for a walk into Noosa National Park along the coastline. We saw a koala in the trees and also saw dolphins in one of the bays which was amazing!
Hope that every one is ok - thanks for all of the messages and emails. I have an email backlog which im getting through slowly so sorry for the delay in getting the replies out at the moment!
