Perth, Western Australia

Perth

When we arrived in Perth there were taxi shortages as there had been a bomb scare at the international airport! But we managed alright to get to our hostel, which was in a beach suburb called Cottesloe.

Cottesloe

Cottesloe is lovely, the beach is stunning and it has the most beautiful sunsets. Our hostel was nice and only slightly dampened by the teenage cockneys sharing our room. They were quite sweet actually apart from the one who insisted on saying "beautiful" in an Ausy accent after everything you said. As we had arrived on a Sunday we had made perfect timing for the Sunday Sesh- allegedly everyone heads to Cottseloe for a boozy session on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Well it would be rude not to join in so we headed out. There were a couple of decent bars and we had a really good night. We stayed until they were shutting and then headed back to the hostel. We were still quite awake and when we looked at the clock it was only 10.15- the Sunday licensing laws in Perth are crazy!

We spent a couple of days in Cottesloe, just topping our tans up on the beach! Then we headed to another little suburb slightly further from Perth called Fremantle. We were supposed to go there for just one night to see a Bob Marley tribute band...this didn't quite happen!
