Perth, Western Australia

Perth, Western Australia

I am feeling a bit gutted today as it is the last day of our tour and I have had really good fun. Our group has been lovely and we have really only just started to get to know each other so it is a bit sad!

Woke up to rain this morning, but apparently this is quite normal and should clear by mid morning. We headed to Margaret River this morning to look at South West Australia's most reliable surf beach and the home of world famous WA Masters Surf Championships.

After spending some time watching the surfers and windsurfers in action we moved onto the Margaret River Chocolate factory. This to be honest was a bit of a waste of time as there was no tour of the factory to show us how the chocolate was made it was more of a chocolate shop. However, managed to get a few freebees so I was happy.

We then went onto a winery to taste some of the local wines and then headed to The Wardan Aboriginal Centre where we were given a bush walk tour to learn about the Wardani people.

Lunch was spent at one of the region's caves and afterwards we had an hour tour of the caves. This was really good but we were a bit rushed for time. We had to access one part of the caves through a narrow tunnel on our knees which was pitch black which was an experience. Andrea, Reg and I then shared a few laughs in the ampitheatre as we tested out our voices and did a few crazy shots lying down.

Our final stop of the day before heading back to Perth was to the Busselton jetty, for a look at the longest piled wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.

Once back into Perth Reg and I booked into our backpackers for the next 2 nights and then met some of the group for dinner at the Brass Monkey.

It was very sad to say goodbye to everyone as they were a lovely bunch

Once back at our hostel we met the other girls we were sharing the dorm with. They all appeared to be staying longer term in Perth by working so our actual room was a state. To make matters worse I experienced the worse ever snoring I have ever heard that night from a girl. It even beat Lid's!!!! So in the morning I was a grumpy woman!!
