Today we spent the day exploring the Kalbarri National Park. The park covers 186,096 hectares and offers some stunning scenery. The Murchison River Gorge runs through sand plain 150km from the highway to Kalbarri town. It is estimated that the tumblagooda sandstone walls were created 400 million years ago on the tidal flats of an ancient sea. Fossil tracks can be spotted along the river.
We started the day by visiting the picture on all the postcards here in Kalbarri, the natural window. It was then off for another coule of walks around the park.
After lunch we explored the many lookouts over the ocean.
In the evening for our last meal we went out for a group meal to Finlays a fish BBQ restaurant where you BYO. I had the main attraction which involved many types of fish with of course chips!!! Yum Yum. It was then back to base for a few games of cards.
