We're going to China - it has been in doubt a little bit due to the difficulty of getting a visa and sorting out travel. But yesterday on the third visit to the Chinese Embassy we picked up 5 visas. In the afternoon we made our way back to the train station to sort out a ticket from Hanoi to Guilin (20 hour journey). The lady at the counter did not want to speak to us for an hour - but finally we got our tickets - saving $100 from the greedy touts! So we're going 27 Jan to Guilin!
Off to Nimh Binh today - not sure what we'll find when we get there - but everyone seems to go!
