Kho Phangan, Thailand

How do you get to these places?

This time - we climbed on to a mini bus - not quite a tourist one, but not the public one - it stopped quite oftent picking up thais along the way. We got dropped off at a travel agents paradise - touts, and travel experts everywhere. The con was on and having travelled 3 hours on a bus knowing there was 4 hours on the boat and we didn't have any where to stay we needed to get sorted. We hadn't realised that Surat Thani was not the place you get the boat -its another hour away a place called Don Sok. So we were herded into a bus packed with backpackers off to the harbour.

The boat was running late and we struggled on with our bags finding there were not seats left. So we set up camp, with sleeping bags and blankets. LM played happily with his cars.

Ron another tout "helped" us sort out a hotel and transport so when we arrived we went straight to Sun View in Baen Yao. It was ok - but in the room was 2 beds - and that was it - nothing, empty, zilch!

Next day a walk along the beach and we found our paradise - Sea Flower resort for the next 3 or was it 4, or was it 5 days.....
